Have you ever been completely cast under a spell just by watching your cat snooze? Their adorable face, the way they contort their body into impossible shapes, those tiny toe beans, how they huddle up cozy and warm, and the subtle twitch of their whiskers—all scream CUTENESS OVERLOAD! At that moment, resistance is futile. I find myself grabbing my phone, hovering above them like a curious paparazzi, and snapping countless pictures from every possible angle. After what feels like 109 million snaps, my arms inevitably wrap around my furball for the most controlled squish, followed by an avalanche of 218 million smooches.
Scientifically speaking, their peaceful surrender is a stark, beautiful contrast to our hectic lives. Each sleeping pose they strike is like a living work of art—graceful, goofy, and regal. Then something truly magical happens: your body releases oxytocin -the love hormone, while lowering cortisol - the stress hormone, making those moments a treasured dose of calm and joy.
So no, obsessing over my cats sleeping is not weird—it’s therapeutic and truly good for my soul.
